Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. They allow a site to recognise your browser between visits, remember choices you have made, and keep some features working correctly.

“Similar technologies” includes things like browser local storage, which some parts of HeartSafe Cambodia use in the same way as a cookie — for example, to remember a display preference on your device without sending it back to our servers.

HeartSafe Cambodia keeps cookie use to a minimum. We currently use only strictly necessary cookies — cookies required to provide a feature you have specifically asked to use. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

When you choose Khmer or English from the language switcher, we store that choice in a cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) so the site can be shown in your chosen language on later visits and pages. Because HeartSafe Cambodia has no other way to remember a language choice between pages, this cookie is only set when you actively change the language, and only if you have accepted cookies below.

If you decline cookies, the language switcher will not be able to remember Khmer as your language across page loads, and you will need to accept cookies to use the site in Khmer.

If you sign in to the staff registry (for AED owners, organisations and administrators), our authentication provider sets cookies needed to keep you signed in securely while you use the registry. These are set only when you actively sign in, are required for that feature to work, and are treated as strictly necessary — they are not affected by the cookie choice below.

HeartSafe Cambodia does not currently use analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking cookies. If this changes in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated and, where required, we will ask for your consent before those cookies are set.

When you first visit HeartSafe Cambodia, you will be asked to accept or decline cookies. If you decline, we will not set the language preference cookie described above, and features that depend on it — such as remembering a Khmer language choice — will not be available.

You can also control or delete cookies at any time through your browser or device settings. Doing so may affect how parts of the site work.

We may update this Cookie Policy as HeartSafe Cambodia develops or our use of cookies changes. The latest version will be published on this page.
